Exhibition of Contemporary Art in Berlin

distribution of power - painting by Pat Harrison

Distribution of Power

From 5 October until 5 November 2013 international artists will be participating in an  exhibition of contemporary Art in Berlin. I have been invited to join them with one of my paintings in connection with the ArtSurprise project.

Normally my work is centred around the beauty of nature in order to attract more attention to the traditional way of painting in the style of realism. For the Berlin exhibition I have created a painting with a political message for the very first time.
It shows the massive chancler´s office next to the Bundestag, the German houses of parliament which I have depicted to look much smaller. The people looking on are left standing in the rain. This led me to the suitable title “Distribution of Power”.

26 international artists will be presenting their work at the Berlin exhibition which will take place at the “Kunst-Projekt Format” gallery Bülowstr.32. The opening vernissage is on 4 October at 7pm. During the following weeks the gallery will be open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 2pm to 7pm.
