Mining Museum – Acrylic Painting

painting of a mining museum in Germany

Mining Museum

This is a painting of a mining museum in the town where I live. It used to be an area of heavy industry with coal mines and steel factories. Today the industry has all but disappeared. Many former industrial complexes have been converted into museums or cultural centres.

The mining museum in the picture has been around from the days since the industry was still thriving.

In my paintings I want to show the changes which this part of the country has undergone. So most of my motifs display the beautiful countryside rather than derelict mines and steel works.

The picture was painted after a photograph using acrylics on a 30x40cm canvas. The original and limited edition prints are available upon enquiry.

You will find more paintings and an enlarged view when you click on the picture.
