Warning – Misterious Phonecall from India

Pat Harrison landscape paintings

I must issue a warning. I have had a misterious phonecall from India. A chap was claiming to be from Microsoft and telling me that my computer had a problem. Now to my knowledge my PC is working fine.

So why would Microsoft bother to call millions of customers individually? I assume he was after my password.

I tried in vain to stop his flow of words. I told him that I would get whatever problem my PC was having sorted out myself. As he persisted I had to put the phone down on him.

About half an hour later he called again. When we told him he had phoned us before he rang off. Whatever his reason for calling one can´t be too careful.

This type of call is not uncommon, although I, personally have not recieved one. Popular theoretical responses are “What PC?”; “Which PC?”; “But I have a Mac” and “Go away, I run UNIX”.
