Juan Petry presents ArtSurprise at wholesale store

As reported previously a new  ArtSurprise vending machine has been installed at an art wholesaler´s in Germany. For new options to participate click here.

Juan Petry who started the artsurprise project was invited by the store´s general manager to install another machine at separate location about 70 miles away in Munster.

This will help the network of artists grow even further. At present there are more than 200 participants already.

Juan has taken it upon himself to help artists with marketing their creations. Participating artists are invited to create a series of 100 miniature works of art.

All kinds of art small enough to fit in a cigarette box is suitable for the project. From paintings to graphics, sculpture and music thousands of small-scale originals have been sold in Germany, Austria and Spain.

In any case the buyer will get a surprise when purchasing an original from one of the many vending machines. He can choose the category but when he presses the button for his purchase he will not know in advance who produced it and whether it will be an abstract or a realist creation.

Together with the original work of art the buyer will get a leaflet in which the artist tells him more about his line of work. Sometimes the buyer is invited to contact the artist who might offer a further surprise for those who do so. In any case the box will contain the artist´s and the artsurprise business cards.

This will give artists the opportunity to advertise their art across Europe. They will also receive a free mention on the artsurprise website with a back link to their own web page. Occasionally Juan will organize an exhibition for participating artists around the installation of a new vending machine.
