Painting en Plein Air at a Moated Castle

Last Sunday I took the opportunity to go and paint en plein air at a nearby moated castle. My last visit there was three years ago with the local papers writing an article about my activities. Again the press spotted me and took the photograph you can see on the left. The photographer gave me his permission to display it on my website. There was a report about it in the local papers.

The reporter was originally planning to cover the brass band which were there to entertain the guests at the restaurant. Occasionally I caught myself applying the brush strokes to the beat of the music.

I also had an interesting conversation with visitors from the Netherlands who praised my work. I was the more pleased when I learnt that they came from an artist family with Henk Helmantel being their most famous relative.

About Pat Harrison

Painting and drawing have been my passion from early childhood. I have attended numerous exhibitions in England and Germany. Presented with the Judges Award at a show I now have one of my paintings on permanent display at a museum in Greater London with growing sales and commissions.
