Getting quite excited about my exhibition at the B.C.Koekkoek museum in Cleves on May 15. Together with a friend of mine I will be demonstrating how the master would have painted his landscapes. We will reproduce works of Barend Cornelis Koekkoek. At the same time there is a special exhibition of works by one of his contemporaries and admirer Cornelis Lieste.
Barend Cornelis Koekkoek´s works have inspired us to recreate some of his works. We will be painting live at the museum developing small artworks from a sketch and underpainting to the detailed representation of an impressive landscape. Both Peter and I have studied his works and have developed our individual styles to interpret the master. While Peter Kempf concentrates on oil paintings I paint in acrylics.
In contrast to the large original canvases our reproductions are affordable miniatures which visitors will be able to buy. Peter will also bring some of his large-scale paintings.
Come and visit the Koekkoek Museum this Sunday and experience the works of Cornelis Lieste and the museum´s original works by B.C. Koekkoek. At the same time you will be able to witness how painters of the 21 century still revel in the skills of the old masters.
Gardening fans will be able to enjoy an additional attraction as the museum´s garden will be open to visitors together with many other famous private gardens in Cleves.
(opening times: House and Garden 11 am till 5 pm, reduced entrance fees incl. exhibition and painting demonstration just 3 Euros)
We expect a number of visitors to come from the Netherlands as both Koekkoek and Lieste were born there.
