Hired a Booth at Creativa Arts Fair 2018

My friends Herdin Radtke, Peter Kempf and I will be manning a booth at the Creativa Arts Fair in Germany.

Herdin will be painting with us and giving lectures on realism in modern art.

Together we want to demonstrate that art and skill go hand in hand. We want to show that there are three things of vital importance to an artist be he an academic or self taught.

These are the control of colour, light, and composition. In the same way that the old masters built upon the knowledge passed down through the generations we are making use of similar principles. Apart from the constant search for something new or something that has never been done before we feel that it is equally important to continue to develop a contemporary form of realism.

Besides the art of photography realism poses ever new challenges to the artist to employ it as a means of communication. There are messages to convey to the people with realism as a universal language for every nation to understand without lengthy explanations. Paintings can remind, accuse, narrate or be used just to depict the beauty of nature.
