Still Life Series – Chess Game

painting by Pat Harrison aka Rainer Hillebrand

check mate

This still life painting shows chess figures at the end of the game. A clock in the background makes you think about how long it might have taken to play the game. A curtain adds further interest and perhaps underlines the fact that it’s all over.

It is 18x13cm in acrylics on canvas panel.

I have painted a number of still lifes now which are a pleasure to create. You never run out of motifs you just have to get the composition right to make the scene look attractive. In a suitable frame a collection of them can decorate a room quite nicely too.

You will find more of my paintings and an enlarged view when you click here. The original and limited edition prints are available upon enquiry.
