River with Rocks and Trees – Acrylic Step 1

As a regular visitor to Devon and Cornwall I get to see so many beautiful places. The river Plym has inspired me to this painting. Not having had enough time to paint on location I decided to work from photogrpahs. As the photo was too dark for my liking I modified it on my computer and prepared a sketch. As the eye prefers to move from left to right I changed the river´s direction accordingly. I also lit up the background especially at the point of the golden mean to create more depth.

I will show you the next steps during the coming weeks.

The painting is in acrylics on wood size 40 x 50 cm.
